This season Jose Cuartas will be singing the role of Sciarrone in TOSCA, Eduardo, Bonito, and Diego Rivera in FRIDA KAHLO AND THE BRAVEST GIRL IN THE WORLD, Edward G. Robinson and Ensemble in FRIDA, the Hunter in RUSALKA and The Husband in THE JUNIPER TREE. He will also cover the roles of Enrico in LUCIA DI LAMMERMOOR and Diego Rivera in Robert Xavier Rodríguez' FRIDA, and perform many concerts throughout the Central Florida community.
ABOUT ME
Queens-native baritone Jose Cuartas is an exciting performer on the rise gaining recognition for both his thrilling voice and commanding stage presence. This season, Mr. Cuartas joins Opera Orlando as a Studio Artist for their 2023-2024 season.
Highlighting a year of new works, 2022-2023 presented Jose in first-ever roles of two world premieres; the role of Dillon in THE PIRATE’S DAUGHTER by Ada de Luque with Romanza Lyric Opera, and the role of Pilato in Alejandro Zuleta’s EL ORATORIO PANHISPÁNICO with Music At Co-Cath.
In addition to his work on the operatic stage, Jose Cuartas is a SAG-AFTRA Actor and can be seen on Emmy Award winning shows like: Law & Order, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel, The Gilded Age, and many more!
